Marketplace AlertsThe early bird gets the deal.

Marketplace Alerts is now available in Spanish

The whole app, from the first onboarding screen to the push notifications on your lock screen, can now be used in Spanish.

New

Many people who buy and resell on Facebook Marketplace and OfferUp in the US read Spanish first. Starting with this update, Marketplace Alerts can be used entirely in Spanish, from the first onboarding screen to the push notifications on your lock screen.

How the language is chosen

When you open the app, it checks the languages set on your phone. If one of them is Spanish, the app shows Spanish. Any other language shows English.

To change it yourself, tap the flag at the top of Settings and pick English or Español. New users see the same button on the first onboarding screen. To go back to your phone’s language, choose System default.

What is translated

  • Every screen: onboarding, searches, Found, Watch List, the Hub and Settings.
  • Push notifications for new listings, price drops, sold and pending items, and messages on shared items.
  • Status messages in item chat, such as price changes and offers.
  • The notification preview in Settings, which now shows exactly what your alerts will say.

What stays in English

Listing titles, descriptions and seller messages appear exactly as the seller wrote them. Search keywords stay as you type them. Most listings on US Marketplace are written in English, so English keywords still find the most matches.
